Klean Strip® Boiled Linseed Oil can be used as a good quality primer.

It can be used on outdoor wooden furniture.

Wood treated with Boiled Linseed Oil that has dried can be used around flowers and vegetables. As long as you let the wood dry, the product will not penetrate into the direct or cause harm to the flowers and vegetables.

Recently purchased pressure treated lumber contains a high moisture content and may take several months to dry. The wet wood will not allow Boiled Linseed Oil to penetrate.  Let the wood dry/weather over several months before applying product.

Klean Strip® Boiled Linseed Oil can be applied over most fully dried wiping stains (stains that only change the wood color) which allows product to soak into the wood. It should not be applied over wood finish stains because the wood finish works as a protective coating — a barrier that sits on top of the wood and will not allow Boiled Linseed Oil to soak into the wood. Boiled Linseed Oil must penetrate the surface of the wood in order to completely dry.

For the product to be tack-free (dry to the touch), let dry up to 16 hours. For product to be fully dried/cured, let product dry over several days.

An excessive build up of Boiled Linseed Oil will cause a gummy residue or blotchy finish to form on the surface of the wood.  Always wipe any surface film with a dry lint-free cloth after allowing product to soak in for 10 minutes.  Always treat cloths according to label directions after using.
Boiled Linseed Oil generates heat as it dries, which can cause the spontaneous combustion of materials contacted by this product. Oily rags, waste, and other oily materials contacted by Boiled Linseed Oil can cause spontaneous combustion fires if not handled properly. USE EXTREME CAUTION.
Immediately after use and before disposal or storage, you MUST 1. Handwash rags thoroughly with water and detergent outside in a bucket and rinse. Repeat washing and rinsing until you have removed all oil from all cloths, tools, rags, paper, clothing, mops and any other materials contacted during use or as a result of an accidental spill. 2. Spread all rinsed materials outside to dry by flattening them out to their full size in an airy spot for at least 24 hours at temperatures above 40˚F until completely dry.

For the product to be tack-free (dry to the touch), let dry up to 16 hours. For product to be fully dried/cured, let product dry over several days.

Rags soaked in Boiled Linseed Oil can combust spontaneously.  DO NOT DISPOSE OF RAGS USED WITH THIS PRODUCT IN THE TRASHCAN.  Keep rags that have absorbed linseed oil in well-covered metal cans and make sure the rags are thoroughly dried before collection or transport.
